The Sagium Enhanced Health Program is available to all Sagium and Sagium Health clients and will be issued without the need for medical underwriting.

If you are not a Sagium or a Sagium Health client, we require a minimum of three enrollees with a corporate or family tie. We also have several other underwritten enhanced health programs that can add significant value to you and your family.

The Sagium Enhanced Health Program is priced based on an individual’s age and gender. Pricing has a ten-year age band and can be expected to increase 4 – 6 % annually due to medical inflation.

The Sagium Enhanced Health Program is coverage that is issued for groups of five or more with corporate or financial ties without having to medically qualify if the plan is purchase the plan within 60 days of a personalized quote. This is done by applying a 24-month pre-existing condition clause in the contract. This means that you will not be covered for a medical issue that you had sought treatment or taken medication for in the 24 months prior to the policy’s effective date for the first 24 months of coverage.

For example, if you apply for the program and it becomes effective March 1st, 2022, and you had recently seen your Doctor for an ongoing back problem, the first 24 months of the contract will not cover a claim related to your back treatment. After 24 months, you would be covered for all medical issues, including issues related to your back.

The most significant difference between travel coverage and the Sagium Enhanced Health Program is that travel insurance typically requires you to medically requalify for each trip. With the Sagium Enhanced Health Program, you never have to medically requalify again. 

For example, if you have a stroke, not only will your medical expenses be covered, but you will receive a new $1,000,000 CAD of coverage to cover you the very next year if you have another stroke. With travel insurance, you will most likely be declined and unable to purchase travel insurance again that would cover you for a stroke.
