On Sept 28th, Studio Bell was closed to the public for an enlightening evening celebrating the power of music.
The event began with a dinner & discussion on the impact of music in medicine hosted by Ron Mannix and the ME2 Foundation and attended by neurology students from the University of Calgary. After dinner, a lively Q&A session was followed by cocktails and a keynote presentation by Dr. Michael Thaut, Professor and Director of the Music and Health Science Research Collaboratory at the University of Toronto.
The power of music in neuro-therapy as well as advances in this field of research were explained to the delight of a intrigued audience. A post-reception musical performance by Calgary’s own Justine Tyrell rounded out one of this year’s most interesting Front Row Centre Club presentations.
