The Petroleum Club in downtown Calgary played host to a Sagium health event on the topic of misdiagnosis. A study performed by the Canadian Medical Association Journal found that 33% of second opinions in oncology cases differed from the first diagnosis and 50% of those cases resulted in major changes to therapy or prognosis.

Best Doctors, a medical benefit program that Sagium Health President Greg Guderyan helped found in Canada, offered their U.S. Medical Director Dr. David Harrison to discuss how Best Doctors saves wait times and drastically reduces medical errors that routinely occur in our Canadian public health system.

The event was also attended by a Best Doctors member who recounted her story of how the Best Doctors’ program saved her life through their innovative offering. The event went over time with all the questions that attendees asked of the Dr. Harrison.
